Samuel “Sam” Smith is the founder and owner of The Handy Smith, the number-one-rated handyman service in Greeneville, Tennessee. A veteran of the U.S. Army and a lifelong tradesman, Sam spent nearly two decades mastering complex technical systems. His diverse background spans years of high-pressure experience, starting as a diesel mechanic before executing high-stakes maintenance as a rig mechanic on offshore oil rigs for industry giants like Trinidad and Nabors.

Along the way, the trades took a heavy physical toll; Sam overcame two unrelated, life-altering injuries, including the loss of use in his left eye from a severe oilfield accident. Following his transition to civilian life and a move to East Tennessee, he also faced early failed ventures in woodworking and party rentals. Rather than quitting, he leveraged a "zero-failure" mechanical mindset to launch his current successful operation.

Alongside his wife and partner, Stephanie, Sam’s ultimate goal is to scale the business into a multi-crew regional powerhouse across Northeast Tennessee, providing hardworking families with a premium standard of service they can implicitly trust.
